Under Mount or Drop In Sinks

Types Of Sinks

When getting new countertops one thing to consider is what type of sink “Undermount” or “Drop-In”. Both are great in their own way. Undermount gets installed “under” the granite which allowes for you to see your beautiful granite between the top and sink. Drop-In slightly different in which we cut the hole in the granite and just “drop” it in. Price for the actual sink is going to be roughly the same, we do charge more for an undermount because there is alot more work and time in making the hole for your sink fabercated and polished as compared to just a rough cut for the “drop-In”. They both have a great but different look, and one is just as useful and practical as the other. The main difference is with an undermount you have the luxuary of wiping anything off the granite and directly into the sink as with a “drop-in” you cant do that because you have that lip on the top of the granite kind of creats a “catch-all”. All things to consider when getting new countertops.
